Where it all started
Goodnight Light® is Eva Newton, born 1976, Ottawa, Canada and Marke Newton born 1973, Burnley England.
We met in London in 1999 when Eva was studying design at Goldsmiths college and Marke, fresh out of Fine Art school was working in a skateboard store in Neal’s yard.
We both come from families of ‘makers’, we grew up drawing, painting and sculpting and together went on to build our careers in the realms of art and design.
Culturally nourished by the places we’ve lived and worked: London, Tokyo, California, Paris and now Barcelona, we work side by side on our family business, Goodnight Light®.
Today Goodnight Light® is a positive brand enriching the lives of many through contemporary art and design. For us lighting is a way of life.
Design philosophy
Goodnight Light® has nurtured a dependable close-knit team of human beings committed to the highest standards of craftsmanship through design innovation and creativity. 98% of our product range is locally manufactured in Barcelona.
With open minds and compassion for environmentalism, we adhere to the responsible use of materials. The PET* we use for our outdoor range, our indoor metal lamps and all of our packaging are 100% recyclable.
We manufacture limited quantities in low emission, energy efficient and socially responsible factories.
In service to our loyal customers we consistently source the finest, most reliable raw materials that contribute to a long lasting product and pleasurable consumer experience.
*Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a highly recyclable plastic resin and a form of polyester, it is lightweight and shatter-resistant.
Packaging
‘Ready to gift’ our eye catching, high quality gift boxes not only make a great first impression but also securely protect their contents and enhance the anticipation of the ‘un-boxing’.
Wherever possible we use recycled cardboard and we responsibly use the minimum amount of plastic wrapping.
